Emily Jo West (Documentary Inserts Filmmaker) has worked in the UK broadcast media for over two decades, most recently on feature documentaries, including ‘The Wall; Climb for Gold’ an award winner at New York Festivals TV and Film awards. Starting as an assistant editor on RTS winner ‘Shakespeare on an Estate’ ( Dir. Penny Woolcock ) Emily developed a passion for stories that have positive social impact and explore human potential. She began editing in 1998 with NFTS Jerwood award winner ‘April Diary’ (Dir. Rodrigo Vasquez ) about the disappeared in Argentina’s ‘Dirty War’, and since then has worked with award winning directors on a broad range of documentary genres.

Photography has also been a lifelong passion for Emily and in recent years she has been filming in collaboration with nonprofits and artists, including Hakawati with Sona Tatoyan.
